Oregon Sugar Pod II Pea

Pisum sativum

Days to Maturity: 70

Oregon Sugar Pod II is a dwarf pea, growing only 3 feet tall with easy-to-pick, 4" pods. Stringless pods are tender, sweet and snappy. A highly productive variety with pods that often form as doubles! This favorite open pollinated variety was improved by Oregon State University for disease resistance to many common pea diseases. A cool weather crop, peas should be planted directly in the ground in early spring or early fall.

Planting Instructions: As soon as ground can be worked in early spring, plant Oregon Sugar Pod II Pea seeds 1" deep, 3-4" apart. Provide a short trellis to climb.

Seed Saving Instructions: Gather peas (which are the seeds) when pods are dry and crunchy. Store in a cool, dark and dry place.
